Hello Patients and Friends!
I hope everyone is having a healthy 2023 so far. He’s some brief, and mostly new, office news:
- Did you know we can order you any bloodwork at any time? If you’re ever in need for bloodwork whether it be to check thyroid function, cholesterol, or any lab panel whatsoever we can easily send you a lab requisition form for LabCorp. It’s super convenient and you can go to any LabCorp in your area. You’ll pay us directly at the office as we use a Co-Op that contracts with LabCorp, which also means you won’t be able to use your health insurance. That’s the one downside. If you’re ever interested in lab work just email me directly with your name as it appears on your ID and your date of birth. We only offer this service to current patients.
- Are you a mouth breather? Most people are and many of you get called-out in my office for not closing your mouth and breathing through your nose. My wife, MaryBeth, is a certified breathing instructor and myofunctional therapist. Myofunctional Therapy is exercises specifically for the facial muscles. The purpose is to restore normal function to the lips, tongue and cheeks. This has body-wide implications for restoring optimal breathing, reducing neck and shoulder tension, and improving overall health. She works to help people not only breathe better, but improve their sleep, energy, blood pressure, and a variety of health ailments – including kids with issues like anxiety and ADD. Many of our patients see her for movement and kettlebell classes either at the office or our home studio, but you can also now see her for these breathing and myofunctional classes both in-person and on-line. - The office walking trail is a 1/4 mile long and goes down to a lovely creek at the back of SHC property, way behind the duck pond. You can walk the trail clockwise starting just behind the swing set or counter-clockwise starting just to the left of the little well-pump house at the back of the parking lot. It might be a bit muddy if it has rained but other than one steep section, it’s an easy, quiet, nature hike.
- The Immune Page and Medicine Cabinet pages have not changed. Astragalus and Thymus PMG are always great “go to” supplements as they help strengthen and support the immune system.
- Speaking of Thymus PMG, if you missed the previous newsletters, you can read about the difference (and importance) of that and Spleen PMG, as well as Thymex, by clicking here. On this page you’ll also see the link to all of my podcasts as well as how to order Standard Process directly if you’d like to. Chrissy typically ships supplements on Tuesdays and Fridays unless she has time on other days.
