Hello Patients and Friends! Thank you for all the wonderful wedding wishes for my daughter and son-in-law, and future Systems Health Care doctors, Makayla (August 2024) and Zach (January 2024). Seems like another round of Covid is making a comeback and while we saw less symptomatic cases of the prior variant, this one seems to be taking its toll on people. A sore throat, back pain, headache, fatigue, and some GI issues have been common as well as some people dealing with that “Covid cough” again. As a reminder, and for the new people on this email list, the Covid protocol can be found under the “Immune Page” at this link here. Elderberry, astragalus, vitamin A, zinc, and thymus PMG seem to be working well -and glycine and quercetin too as needed and noted on the sheet. Do you like to stretch? Well although almost all movement is good, most stretching that people do is harmful. Stretching is really more of an ideology and than health regime, and although it may make you feel good while you’re doing it, it’s a false sense of security and typically worse for you rather than better. The two areas you should never hold a stretch are your plantar fascia (the bottom of your foot) and your ITB (that’s the outside of your thigh). I’m often hearing that people want to “stretch their plantar fascia” for their plantar fasciitis or other foot or ankle pain. Or they want to stretch or foam roll their ITB, which is actually impossible to truly lengthen. If you want to learn more, see the entire Four-Part Mini-Series here on the Sock Doc site.
